Q-Cell/Micro-balloon

Q-cell filler is a lightweight powder. When mixed with polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy resin, it creates a "foam-white," easy-to-sand paste. It is primarily used to fill holes, voids, and deep gouges in boats, surfboards, and other fibreglass parts. 

Q-cell adds little to no structural strength. Unlike raw resin, which cures into a hard, glass-like finish that is difficult to work with, Q-cell significantly softens the cured material, making it ideal for smoothing surfaces.

It acts as a volume extender, allowing you to "stretch" your resin and cover large areas without burning through all your liquid resin. 

Application - Q-cell is typically added to mixed resin at a ratio of 5% to 10% by weight (up to 20% for a thick, putty-like paste) until a peanut butter or mayonnaise consistency is achieved.
